May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  This month is designed to raise awareness and educate the public about mental illnesses, suicide, and strategies for attaining mental health and wellness.  Mental Health Awareness Month also aims to reduce the stigma around mental illnesses. The month came about by presidential proclamation in 2013.
