When it comes to protecting the environment, we've all heard the slogan "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle".  But did you know that there are also several other "R's" related to reducing waste?  When it comes to controlling things such as plastic pollution, one of the best solutions is to reduce the manufacture of unnecessary single-use plastics in the first place.  Explore links on this page to find creative ideas to reduce and repurpose waste.  

Upcycling

Upcycling is the transformation of unwanted products into something of higher quality than the original.  There are tons of great ideas out there for ways to repurpose everything from clothes to maps, but here are a few simple projects you may want to start with.

Upcycled Book Art

Give an old book a new purpose!  Repurpose book pages to create original paper art pieces that highlight the many beautiful qualities of an old book.  If you need inspiration, you can find some upcycled book projects in the library.  Here are some Viterbo student creations:
